Dr. Zechowy’s support and guidance helped me to feel like there was hope again. She gave me the tools I needed to get to the other side of my depression and for my kids to have their mommy back. Forever grateful for her.

Dr. Zechowy helped me and my spouse form a plan during my third pregnancy because of my history of PPD that educated and equipped us to prevent the situations that were likely to lead to another hard postpartum. I am 6 months postpartum and confident the plan we've followed is why I'm having the best of my three experiences.

I suffered from major post partum anxiety and depression, but with the support and guidance I received from Jill I was able to get out of the darkness and see my life as it is, sometimes challenging, but also so wonderful.

five Steps to Prevent Postpartum Depression
Step One
Get Good Sleep
Getting good sleep when you're pregnant or have a baby is easier said than done.
Lack of sleep is a major contributor to postpartum depression, anxiety, and even postpartum rage. No wonder sleep deprivation is a form of human torture!
Common advice given such as "sleep when the baby sleeps" is not enough. No single approach works for all moms or babies. You need a sleep game plan with multiple strategies tailored to you.

Step Two
Nutrition
Healthy eating makes us feel better. In particular there is evidence that Omega 3 Fatty Acids, selenium (from just 1 Brazil nut a day), and calcium may prevent or improve depression.
Step Three
Help and Support
Talk with your partner about ways to share responsibilities and make the workload more manageable. Finding outside support can be more difficult these days, but there are ways to create balance.
Get all the help you can get.

Step Four
Let go of Control
An important part of finding balance in motherhood is learning when and how to let go of control. Taking control is a common coping strategy is times of stress and uncertainty. Often this strategy works well, but not always....
