Meet Your Host
Dr. Jill Zechowy, M.D., M.S., is a leading expert in the field of perinatal health, with a focus on the treatment and prevention of perinatal depression and anxiety. After finishing medical school over 25 years ago, Dr. Jill started working in family medicine. Some of her patients were pregnant women looking for guidance, struggling with anxiety and depression. After having two kids of her own and living through similar experiences to her patients, Dr. Jill went back for more schooling for a Master’s in Counseling psychology, graduate training in perinatal psychotherapy, honing her concentration on perinatal care. After years of research, Dr. Jill’s mission came to life: to guide mothers like you through the stages of pregnancy, birth, and caring for your newborn by using proven techniques that help combat perinatal mood anxiety and depression (PMAD).

As a PMAD survivor, Dr. Jill knows the ups and downs of motherhood firsthand. Her proven strategies are grounded in the latest research for preventing postpartum depression. She also takes the holistic approach: showing how biological, psychological, and social factors impact a woman’s health and contribute to PPD. Her mission is to empower women with the knowledge and tools to prevent and manage symptoms of postpartum depression and anxiety, while using techniques to feel confident and supported throughout the journey of motherhood.Â
In addition to her clinical experience, Dr. Zechowy is committed to education and advocacy. She regularly speaks at conferences and workshops, and has provided training and consultations to healthcare providers and community organizations. The culmination of years of training and experience have been woven into the Motherhood Survival Manual Masterclass: a flexible and comprehensive guide from pregnancy into motherhood.
